Research

IDCRC studies are conducted at Vaccine Treatment and Evaluation Units (VTEUs) funded by the DMID and NIAID. These sites bring extensive clinical trials capacity and a wealth of experience for the implementation of the consortium’s scientific agenda. The IDCRC VTEU sites are experienced in implementing clinical trials, monitoring and reporting adverse events, achieving high participant retention rates, and rigorously adhering to study protocols. Visit our about page for more information about the IDCRC VTEU primary sites and subsites.

The IDCRC Leadership Group (LG) partners with our VTEUs and supports the planning and implementation of infectious diseases clinical research that efficiently addresses the scientific priorities of NIAID. The LG institutions are leaders of influential infectious diseases, immunology and clinical research programs focused on vaccines and STIs at top academic institutions and affiliates across the country. The programs, faculty, and collaborators at these institutions have exceptional NIH/NIAID network and international connectivity, a history of performing outstanding ID clinical research, and the experience and capability of rapidly responding to ID threats. Visit our about page for more information about the IDCRC LG institutions.
